R2 Bot
This project was created during my internship, where I explored the use of AI-driven tools within a 3D production workflow.
The concept art was generated using Midjourney. I trained and guided the model to produce realistic-looking robots that matched my desired style. Based on the concept image, the 3D model was generated with Hunyuan 3D.
The resulting geometry required significant cleanup. The mesh was re-meshed using Quad Remesher and then separated into logical, movable parts. The automatically generated textures did not meet the required quality, so I recreated the textures manually.
Throughout the process, I encountered multiple challenges. Re-meshed topology and joint structures were often not mechanically logical, which required extensive manual corrections and adjustments. Preparing UVs and Color IDs on the re-meshed geometry was also complex.
Overall, this project was a valuable experience in integrating AI tools into a traditional 3D pipeline.
