A 3D-printed sculptural character inspired by Lowbrow art.
The model was first created digitally in 3D, then brought into the physical world through printing and further refined with traditional techniques, including sculpting, sanding, filler work, and acrylic painting.
Special thanks to my mentor, Stina Leek, for the guidance, support, and valuable feedback throughout the project.

Inspired by the lowbrow style, I modeled a character in 3D using subdivision modeling and some digital sculpting.

This project began with a Lowbrow art aesthetic that caught my eye—I wanted to bring that quirky, underground vibe into a physical form.

Next came the challenge of 3D printing. I prepared the model in a slicer and ultimately decided to split it in half to save time, material, and to print larger, more detailed sections.

After printing, I cleaned the support structures and seams, glued the pieces together, and filled the larger gaps with modeling putty. That required multiple rounds of filling, sanding, and re-sanding to achieve a smoother surface.

For the base coat, I skipped spray paint and applied multiple layers of acrylic paint instead, aiming for an even, rich finish. I continued building up the layers, and once satisfied, sealed the piece with clear varnish and mounted it on a base.

End Result: A sculptural character that reflects both my creative vision and technical skills. The process was demanding yet exciting, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. Grateful for an inspiring mentor and the opportunity to exhibit this work.
